LANSING, Chief Judge.
This is an appeal from a judgment of conviction and sentence imposed following a plea of guilty to felony eluding a police officer. The appellant contends that his guilty plea and sentence should be vacated because the magistrate and district court failed to consider his repeated requests that he be appointed new counsel or be allowed to represent himself. We conclude that the district court erred in not inquiring into the reasons for Peck’s dissatisfaction with his appointed attorney and not giving Peck the opportunity to proceed pro se.
