BACKGROUND

This case involved allegations that Defendants violated Plaintiffs civil rights through the unlawful use of excess force and retaliation in 2001 and 2002. Plaintiff formally waived his right to a jury trial and the case was tried before the Court over the course of five days, commencing July 28, 2014. Plaintiff appeared pro se after numerous applications for appointment of counsel were denied due to documented threats by Plaintiff toward prior appointed counsel.
