In the center of the Boulevard of the Allies, and just east of its intersection with Smithfield Street, the City of Pittsburgh, appellant herein, constructed and maintained a wooden platform for the accommodation and safety of pedestrians crossing the boulevard; it was about twenty feet long, four feet wide, and five inches high.
