hOn February 19, 2008, the Defendant, Brandy Smith, was charged by bill of information as follows: counts one and three-simple burglary, violations of La. R.S. 14:62; counts two and four-theft of over $500.00, violations of La.R.S. 14:67(B)(1); and, count five-theft of a firearm valued over $500.00, a violation of La.R.S. 14:67. 1 On April 7, 2008, the Defendant pled guilty to theft of over $500.00 in counts two and four and to the reduced charge of attempted theft of a firearm in count five.
