In this petition for support, brought on by order to show *371cause on March 12, 1986, the petitioner wife, a resident of the State of Israel, seeks support for herself and her seven children.

The parties were married in New York in 1966. In August of 1983 the entire family moved to Israel and in August of 1984 the respondent returned to New York with one son, age 15. Petitioner applied to the Rabbinical Court in Israel seeking support, custody and other relief. That court, after an apparently ex parte proceeding, gave custody of the children to the petitioner,…
