This was an action brought to recover for the services and labor of the plaintiff, rendered for the defendants, from the 1st day of May, 1862, to the 20th day of September, in the same year. A balance of $153.69 was claimed to be due. The answer, first, admits the performance of the labor, as^ stated in the complaint, except that the plaintiff did not labor the length of time stated in the complaint, into one quarter of a day.
