Appellant Joe William Meuret Jr. was indicted for sexual assault against A.T., an adult with diminished mental capacity, and Meuret entered a plea of not guilty. A jury convicted Meuret 1 of sexual assault under section 22.011(a)(1)(A) of the Texas Penal Code. .See ■ Tex, Penal Code Ann. § 22.011(a)(1)(A) (West 2011). The jury assessed punishment at sixteen-years’ confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and assessed a $5,000.00 fine.
