In this accounting proceeding a question arises as to the validity of a bequest contained in the 1st codicil to the testator’s will. That codicil, so far as material, reads as follows:

*675“ First. I give and bequeath to my friend Ruth Ethel Marlow two hundred shares of the preferred stock of the par value of $100.00 a share of the Mackay Companies — represented by two certificates of stock, respectively numbered N 6265 and N 6269.”
