The controversy relates to the north hne of the town of Jackson. Jackson was incorporated under the name of Adams in 1800, and included grants which had been made before that date to various persons and a quantity of ungranted state land. The northerly hne is described in the charter as follows: “ Begmning .at the most northerly corner bound of a tract of land granted to Wentworth and Rogers, from thence runs south eighty-one degrees, east seven miles to the northwesterly corner bound of Chatham.” At the date of the Adams charter, the north line, according to-either claim as to its exact…
