This is an appeal from a mandamus order directing the county clerk of Nassau county, as the board of elections of that county, to strike from the ballot, in the town of Hempstead, proposition No. 1, authorising the town of Hempstead to convey to the People of the State of New York lands and lands under water for the extension and protection of that part of the Long Island State Park System known as Jones Beach.
