This is an appeal by the State of New York from a judgment of the Court of Claims awarding the claimant, Adah Steele, the sum of $3,010.81 damages for personal injury and property damage, and the claimant, J. Richard Steele, her husband the sum of $1,078.44 damages for medical expenses and loss of her services. These awards against the state resulted from a highway accident which occurred on Route 23-A in the Town of Catskill, Greene County, New York, on June 28, 1954, at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, when a motor vehicle being driven by Adah Steele allegedly struck depressions, holes, mounds…
