Respondent and appellant became husband and wife in 1915. A child was born of the marriage, and thereafter the wife brought suit for divorce. After a trial on the merits, a divorce was granted to the husband on his cross-complaint, and in the decree it was provided:

* * That the main custody of the minor child, Kathleen Brock, shall be in the plaintiff, and at the home of the plaintiff’s father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Heitman, under the direction of the court, and until the further order of the court.
