On March 2, 1931, A. T. Cochran left his home in Murray County, where he had resided for many years, stating that he was going to Chattanooga to-buy goods for the general mercantile and supply business of Cochran & Tatum, a partnership in which he owned a half interest. Besides his interest in the partnership he owned a warehouse, a number of houses and farms which were being rented, the aggregate value being alleged as $40,000.
