The determination of the questions presented on these appeals involves the application of identical legal principles to states of facts differing only in that different parties are involved; wherefore they will be considered together.
The plaintiff at one time lived in the city of Parkersburg. She is an alien unable to write the English language, and scarcely able to speak it. More than twenty years ago her husband died leaving her with four children. She received two thousand dollars from a policy of insurance upon the life of her husband.
