This action is brought to recover the value of certain barley sold by the plaintiff to the defendant.- The defendant admitted the liability for the barle)^ and by way of counterclaim alleged that he did, on the 13th day of January, 1920, deliver to the plaintiff -certain wheat, and received from the plaintiff a memorandum showing the receipt thereof.
