The above five eases grow out of a collision which happened in Long Island sound, near Little Gull island, at about 11 o’clock of the night of October 26, 1881, between the schooner P. IT. Wheaton, bound to the eastward, and the schooner Erastus Wiman, bound westward, whereby the former was immediately sunk. The captain of the Wheaton was knocked overboard by the collision and drowned. The third libel above named was brought by his adminis-tratrix to recover damages on account of his death.
