Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Columbia County (Czajka, J.), rendered August 19, 1998, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of sexual abuse in the first degree (two counts) and endangering the welfare of a child.

Defendant’s conviction arises out of the sexual abuse of a nine-year-old girl at defendant’s home in the Town of Copake, Columbia County. As a result of his conviction, County Court sentenced defendant to consecutive terms of imprisonment of 3V2 to 7 years on each of the sexual abuse counts, with a concurrent term of one year in…
