BLATCHFORD, District Judge.

The libel-lants, as owners of the schooner Sarah L. *478Merritt, bring this suit against the steamboat W. C. Redfield, to recover the sum of 55,000, for the damages sustained by them through the sinking of the schooner by means of a collision which took place between the two vessels on the 9th of October, 1867, between five and six o’clock p. m., in the Hudson river, just below the dock at West Camp.
