Following a jury trial, defendant George McClellan was convicted of the offense of criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 12 — 13(a)(1)). Defendant was sentenced to a term of eight years’ imprisonment with credit for time served, and appeals the conviction and sentence imposed.
