MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

MATTHEW F. KENNELLY, District Judge.

A jury convicted Darnell Thompson of possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). Thompson, now repre sented by new counsel, has moved for entry of a judgment of acquittal, to arrest judgment, or for a new trial. For the reasons stated below, the Court denies Thompson’s motions for a judgment of acquittal and to arrest judgment but grants his motion for a new trial.
