MEMORANDUM

NEWCOMER, District Judge.

The plaintiff union brought this suit pursuant to Section 301 of the Labor-Management Relations Act, 29 U.S. § 185, seeking an order to compel the defendant employer to arbitrate a grievance concerning the employment status of Edward J. Gebhardt. Both sides have moved for judgment on the pleadings or, in the alternative, summary judgment. As the Court- finds that the defendant is obligated to arbitrate this grievance, the plaintiff’s motion for summary judgment will be granted and the defendant’s motion will be denied.
