This and other cases concerning military bounty lands in Missouri, under the acts of congress granting *708lands to soldiers in the war of 1812, require an interpretation of said acts of congress, and of the statutes of Missouri with reference thereto.
By the act of May 6, 1812, c. 77, § 4 (2 Stat. 729), it was provided: “That no claim for the military land bounties aforesaid, shall be assignable or transferable in any manner whatever, until after a patent shall have been granted in the manner aforesaid.
