On May 14, 1988, the Claimant, Claimants ex-husband, Robert Steger, and Claimants children went to the Bone Center of the Braden Auditorium at Illinois State University to watch Claimants son, Patrick, receive an award at a young writers/authors ceremony. Patrick was to receive an award for something he had written. There were several hundred people at the ceremony. The awardees were third and fourth grade children.
