MAUZY, Justice.

This case involves the proper characterization of retirement benefits and joint savings account proceeds in a probate action. The trial court rendered judgment characterizing the husband’s retirement benefits and joint savings account proceeds as community property and awarded the wife’s estate one-half of the husband’s retirement benefits and one-half of the proceeds in the joint savings account.
