OPINION

JONES, Judge.

The defendant, Pamela Irene Aucoin, was convicted of murder first degree by a jury of her peers; and she was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Department of Correction. She appealed as of right to this Court after the trial court denied her motion for a new trial. See Tenn.R.App. 3(b).

SUFFICIENCY OF THE EVIDENCE

The defendant contends that if she is guilty of killing the victim, she is guilty of the offense of voluntary manslaughter, not murder first degree. She argues that there was sufficient provocation present because the victim had beaten her for an extended period…
