WALKER, Circuit Judge:

Defendant-appellant Diocese of Rockville Centre (the “Diocese”) appeals from a judgment of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (Frederic Block, District Judge), holding the Diocese liable for breach of plaintiffs employment contract. Gargano v. Diocese of Rockville Centre, 888 F.Supp. 1274 (E.D.N.Y.1995). The district court upheld the jury’s verdict that the Diocese was an employer of the plaintiff, Amelia Gargano, and set damages at $83,300, plus pre-judgment and post-judgment interest.
