— John Wanamaker, Jr., seeks by a writ of habeas corpus to obtain the possession of his two children. The respondent has presented these petitions, on which rules were allowed, to show cause why the oral testimony of certain witnesses located in the City and State of New York should not be taken before an examiner. The petitions give the names of the witnesses, and aver that they are employes, or former employes, of Mr. Wanamaker, and are hostile to the respondent.
