Bankruptcy Code § 502(d) provides, in pertinent part: “[T]he court shall disallow any claim of any entity ... that is a transferee of a transfer avoidable [as a preference] ... unless such entity or transferee has paid the amount ... for which such entity or transferee is liable ....” 1 The ultimate question in this proceeding, after disposing of some preliminary issues, is the interpretation to be placed on this statute when both the transferor and the transferee of a voidable preference…
