Having waived indictment, an information was filed charging the defendant with the armed robbery of the Imperial 400 Motel in Decatur, Illinois. A jury trial resulted in a verdict of guilty. The defendant was sentenced to the Illinois State Penitentiary for a term of not less than seven nor more than fourteen years. The defendant appeals, contending that the evidence was not sufficient to establish his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. He also asserts the sentence as imposed by the trial court is excessive and seeks its reduction.
