The plaintiff is a foreign corporation, organized under the laws of New Jersey, and engaged in the manufacture of steel tubing, at Nutley, in that state, while the defendant is a manufacturer of umbrella shanks, in the city of Philadelphia. This action is on a promissory note of the defendant given in settlement for steel tubing bought of the plaintiff. At the close of the evidence a verdict was directed for the amount of the note.
