LEE, C.J., FOR THE COURT:
¶ 1. Following a jury trial in the Hinds County Circuit Court, La'Darrian "D.J." McCray was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted aggravated assault. McCray was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder conviction and twenty years for the aggravated-assault conviction, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
