FINDINGS OF FACT and CONCLUSIONS OF LAW
BROTMAN, District Judge:
In reaching its findings of fact and conclusions of law in this maritime suit for negligence, the court must confront an issue explicitly left open by the Supreme Court’s recent decision in McDermott Internation, Inc. v. Wilander, — U.S. -, 111 S.Ct. 807, 112 L.Ed.2d 866 (1991): whether a river pilot who is not permanently attached to a ship is a Jones Act seaman.
