Plaintiff filed this suit on February 28, 1928, against defendant, his former employer, to recover compensation for permanent total disability to do work of any reasonable character, alleged to have resulted from an accidental injury *255sustained by plaintiff on October 13th, 1927, while he was engaged in the scope of his employment with defendant.
