Defendant, Sequoia Books, Inc., was charged by criminal complaint with four counts of obscenity, each involving the sale of an allegedly obscene magazine. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 11— 20a(l).) Following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty on all counts and was subsequently ordered to pay fines and costs totaling $1,123.
