This is an appeal from the. district court for the northern district of California.
The suit was brought, by a libel in the admiralty, against 844 tons of coal (of which Raymond was the claimant) on board the ship- Orphan, of which Tyson, the libellant, was a part owner. Its object was to enforce an alleged lien, on the coal claimed under a charter-party between Tyson and J. Howard and Son, of New York, charterers.
