THOMAS, Judge.

Nancy W. Blount (“the former wife”) and William B. Blount (“the former husband”) were divorced by the Montgomery Circuit Court in 1998. Among other *739things not pertinent to this appeal, the former husband was ordered to pay periodic alimony in the monthly amount of $4,000. The divorce judgment was modified several times; however, the former husband at all times remained obligated to pay alimony in the monthly amount of $4,000.
