TIMMONS-GOODSON, Judge.

Maurice Lacato Phifer (“defendant”) appeals his conviction of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. For the reasons stated herein, we hold defendant received a trial free of prejudicial error.

The State’s evidence presented at trial tends to show the following: Sometime before June of 1996, defendant’s wife, Cassandra Phifer (“Cassandra”), began a sexual relationship with a former high school friend, John Lewis Southerland (“Southerland”).
