On the 13th of October, 1871, the supreme court of New York, in a suit brought by William R. Barr against the Stuyvesant Bank, and on a verified complaint and sundry affidavits therein, made an order restraining the bank from exercising any of its corporate franchises, and from collecting or transferring any of its moneys or property, until the further order of the court, and appointing the defendant in this suit to be receiver of its property.
