PARKER, Justice.

Defendant was indicted on 18 July 1995 for two counts of first-degree murder and on 18 September 1995 for one count of first-degree burglary. Defendant was tried capitally in September of 1996 and found guilty of both counts of first-degree murder and of first-degree burglary. Following a capital-sentencing proceeding, the jury recommended a sentence of death for each of the murders; after consolidating the judgments, the trial court entered judgment accordingly.
