This is an appeal from the denial of an application for an accidental disability retirement allowance from the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System.

Petitioner was employed by the Township of Egg Harbor Police Department as a detective sergeant. On September 29, 1992, petitioner and two other police officers executed a warrant *96for the search of a motel room for drugs and drug paraphernalia.
