This action for personal injuries arises out of the October 28, 1987 rape and assault of plaintiff, mentally retarded and 27 years of age at the time, by one Felipe Figueroa, employed as a bus driver by defendant Sonat Transportation Co., which provided plaintiff with transportation services to and from the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center (TCC), where she was receiving counseling as an outpatient.
