Lori Pettit claims that the Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau (Retrieval) and its president — Russell Fuchs— violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by using its name in a collection letter. Specifically, she contends that the name “Retrieval Masters Creditors Bu reau, Incorporated” is deceptive because it leads unsophisticated debtors to believe that Retrieval is a credit bureau rather than a collection agency.
