The Court is called on to evaluate defendant’s right to be free of unreasonable searches in a hospital setting, as well as his right against self-incrimination. Defendant was a patient at a State-run psychiatric hospital. The police conducted a warrantless search of defendant’s room, discovering a small quantity of Xanax, a controlled dangerous substance.
