—Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Marrus, J.), rendered January 11, 1999, convicting him of manslaughter in the second degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence. The appeal brings up for review the *393denial, after a hearing, of that branch of the defendant’s omnibus motion which was to suppress his statements to law enforcement authorities.

Ordered that the judgment is reversed, on the law, that branch of the omnibus motion which was to suppress the defendant’s statements to law enforcement authorities is granted, and a new trial is ordered.
