I. An ordinance of the city of Chariton provides that if any one shall, within the city, “ keep any bawdy house 'or house of ill-fame, or house of assignation, or shall lease or let any house for such purpose, or permit 'any house under his control to be so used” * * ' * * * * *361lio “ shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in a sum not less than one, nor more than fifty, dollars, and costs ' of prosecution, and stand committed,” etc.
