In 1957, defendant was found guilty of burglary in the first degree, in violation of section 459 of the Penal Code. A motion for a new trial was made and denied. The criminal proceedings were adjourned and sexual psychopathy 1 proceedings vreve instituted, as a result of which defendant was ultimately committed to Atascadero State Hospital for an indeterminate period. On February 3, 1967, a report from the superintendent and medical director of that hospital was received and filed.
