KNOX, District Judge.

I. INTRODUCTION

Dr. Sharon Johnson, an assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry of the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh brings this action for alleged sex discrimination in connection with the refusal of the University at the end of her second three-year contract as an assistant professor to promote her to the rank of associate professor and grant her tenure as a member of the faculty.
