Plaintiff, an automobile dealer in the City of Shreveport, seeks to recover judgment against the defendant, First National Bank of said city, for $302.87, the amount of a check drawn by plaintiff on and honored by said bank, and which was made payable to H.C. and Mamie Maxwell, residents of the City of Overton, Texas. It is alleged that the signatures of the payees on the check were forged and, for this reason, it should not have been honored and that no legal payment thereof has resulted; that said bank, after honoring the check, delivered the money on same to persons other than the payees,…
