{¶ 1} Martin Nichols was found guilty on his guilty pleas to four counts of gross sexual imposition. He was sentenced to a five-year term of imprisonment on each count, to be served consecutively, for an aggregate term of 20 years, with five years of mandatory postrelease control. He was classified as a Tier II sexual offender. Trial counsel filed a timely notice of appeal and requested that Nichols be appointed new counsel for the appeal; this motion was overruled by the trial judge.
