GARWOOD, Circuit Judge:

Appellant-defendant James E. Huff II (Huff) appeals his sentence.

Huff was charged in a one count information filed December 20, 2002 with violating 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2) by having, on August 30, 2002, when he had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term of more than one year, possessed a firearm in and affecting interstate or foreign commerce. On the same day the government filed its notice of intention to seek enhanced penalties under 18 U.S.C. § 924(e) on account of Huffs three prior convictions for violent felonies or…
